Workshops are open to dog owners of all experience levels. Each session is tailored to the group's needs, but dogs should be comfortable in a social setting. Contact us for specific suitability advice.

Behaviour Workshops

Barkleys Dog Training Academy offer various force-free workshops to target different areas of behaviour that may need reinforcing from time-to-time, or where an owner may be struggling and just need some techniques in order to help them achieve what they need without completing an entire course.

This is where our very popular workshops come in very handy!

Throughout the year, we run a number of workshops covering areas such as recall, excitable dogs (covering jumping up etc), loose lead walking, and more! We have the following workshops available at the moment.

Excitable Dog Workshop

Do you have an over-excited dog? Do they pull on the lead? Do they jump up? Do they have their own over-exuberant way of welcoming your house guests? Would you like to learn the ways to improve all these issues and work with your dog?

If the answer to these questions is a resounding 'YES!', we are running an intensive workshop for those dogs who love life and just need to turn it down a notch!

This 60 minute class is extremely popular and incorporates loose-lead walking, jumping up, eye contact, general focus, and more!

Total Recall Workshop

Do you want an off lead dog? To be able to trust your dog to come back when called? Or just want to work on general obedience when your dog is around distractions?

Our popular Total Recall workshop is back and better than ever! This new and improved workshop will be teaching recall techniques in a group class at our Barkley&Co centre.

Loose Lead Walking Workshop

Does your dog pull on the lead? Would you like to have more control on your dog walks, instead of having your dog walking you?

Our new Loose Lead Walking Workshop will teach you the techniques to help make your dog walks a more enjoyable experience for both you and your dog.

This workshop includes TWO 1 hour training sessions; the first will cover a range of techniques in a group class at our Barkley&Co centre, and the second will be a 1-2-1 session outside, where we will be putting the techniques learnt in the first session into practice in a real life situation. The 1-2-1 session will be booked at your leisure, whenever is best for you.

Loose lead walking has so many benefits, including preventing injury to both you and your dog from pulling, improves your dog's safety on a walk, and generally makes dog walks a much more pleasant and enjoyable experience.

Agility Taster Sessions

Do you think your dog has agility potential? Are you looking for a fun way for them to burn off some energy whilst learning a new skill? Why not come down and have a go at our super fun agility taster session!

In this fun filled 60 minute session, you and your dog will be able to have a go at some basic agility with a range of equipment including jumps, tunnels, and more!
